- find out about the line of industry, the company itself and its' business operations, services, clientele as well about the job you are applying for.
- make sure that you know who is or are the ones interviewing you.
Knowing yourself while being interviewed is important. Therefore time spent on self assessment beforehand is not a time wasted. Rehearse to tell about yourself, your competences (skills and knowledge) and your experiences. Internalize your know-how and where you could still improve your skills regarding the position you are applying for.

The job interview offers both the recruiter and applicant a reciprocal situation to sell one another: make the most out the opportunity to present yourself, your skills and strengths. Bear in mind your goals and focus to achieve them.
Dress code
Latest surveys stress the importance of the appropriate dressing also in Finland. The first impression is often made within the first 20-30 seconds. Many companies are careful about their outer appearance and they want to hire people who match to their image. In Great Britain there is even a saying: "Looking good - sounding right". Dress yourself for a job interview as you would think other employee to do in the company or ask someone about it. However, remember to dress according to the situation: for a man applying for a a blue-collar work a neat dress shirt and long trousers will do just fine.
